Our New Campaign Support Service!

Liz Partridge – Campaign Development Manager

Campaign Support Service

Hi! I’m Liz, the Campaign Development Manager at Voluntary Action Harrow. I have joined this fantastic Co-operative to help deliver our new Campaign Support Service.  I am bringing over 15 years of experience in the charity sector to deliver this service. My experience ranges from campaigning for indigenous communities in the Global South to campaigning for the rights of deaf children in the UK. I am passionate about social justice and empowering people whose voices often go unheard.

Our new service aims to help promote and support the development of community activism and campaigning in Harrow. With a focus on minority and disadvantaged communities living in Harrow, we want to help inform, empower and strengthen your voice to tackle some of the most prominent issues in the Borough.

Issues in Harrow

We know that many people in Harrow face problems with low income, poor housing and working conditions, discrimination, health inequalities and environmental injustices. Our Campaign Support Service will help those wanting to challenge these issues in order to bring about positive change.

What is campaigning?

…you may well ask. Well, do not fear, campaigning is not complicated! A campaign is simply a well-planned project with a goal and objectives to bring about change. They can be big or small. Perhaps you want to campaign to push for a change in national government law or policy. Or maybe you want to raise awareness about a local issue you are experiencing.  There are lots of different and easy ways to campaign. If you want to learn more, we have just the thing for you, a free campaign training course!

Campaign training course

Our new service is offering you the chance to participate in a free campaign training course. The course will cover, campaign planning, tools and tactics, monitoring and evaluation and emotional resilience. It will take place online, over three sessions in March 2021:

Week 1 – Wed 10th March, 10-12:30pm
Week 2 – Wed 17th March, 10-12.30pm
Week 3 – Wed 24th March, 10-12:30pm

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about effective campaigning. Book your place now!

1-1 campaign advice and support

If you are already campaigning or want to campaign on an issue in Harrow, our service can also provide you with 1-1 campaign advice and support.  Our 1-1 support offer applies mainly to residents who are experiencing the issues I have highlighted above (low income, poor housing and working conditions, discrimination, health inequalities and environmental injustices).
